Tail Study

This piece was part of an exhibtion I held in Horsham, January 2008.


All the pieces were based on seafaring lore and legends and I was particularly interested in the Kraken. I also looked at the ancient mythology of mermaids, Plato's Atlantis and the superstitions of sailors.

Tail Study was really an oppurtunity to work thickly with colour. As with all the other pieces in the Squid and Mermaid minis in this collection, I really enjoyed creating it. I love the greens, blues and pinks used in thess paintings.
